Minnesota and much of the upper Midwestern portion of the United States recently went through a very deep freeze. From Tuesday January 29th until early morning on Friday, February 1, our temperatures didn’t rise above zero. (That’s Fahrenheit!) In my part of the state, temperatures dipped to 30 below, but other parts of the state were even colder! We were fortunate in that we have a warm home and cozy beds and plenty of food.
Others in the state aren’t so fortunate. Can you imagine being homeless and hungry in such weather? I certainly can’t.
But my hero and heroine in HOME ANOTHER WAY do understand. Both have a passion for helping the homeless, although their methods of helping are decidedly different.
Dani, a senator’s daughter, is an activist who brings attention to the homeless plight. Her actions get her arrested and she’s sentenced to a hundred hours of community service.
Austin, a convict’s son, was once homeless himself and feeds the homeless on a weekly basis.
That’s how the two meet.
That’s when the sparks begin to fly!
And together they learn what it really means to serve.
